In conjunction with Metcalf Tree Service and other churches, we split and deliver Firewood for Jesus to minister to needy families during the winter.
Each year in February we work with PACEM in Charlottesville and other local churches to feed homeless men/women an evening meal or meals at a church in Charlottesville. We collect socks, foot powder and sleeping bags for this ministry also.
Providing lunches to IMPACT VA mission teams in Fluvanna, Louisa, Buckingham, and Orange over the years, has become a Crossroads tradition. IMPACT VA is a mission dear to the hearts of many at Crossroads, as our youth participated in IMPACT VA mission trips to Scott County, Wise, Appomattox, and Martinsville.
Operation School Supply is an opportunity for our church to provide school supplies and back packs to local schools. We have participated by helping students in Fluvanna and Louisa schools.
Tag a Turkey is our Thanksgiving fund drive to help the local food bank purchase turkeys for needy families.
Operation Christmas Child is a worldwide event in which we participate each year by packing shoes boxes and sending the love of Christ around the world.
Our annual Angel Tree is an opportunity for us to provide Christmas gifts to someone whose Christmas might not be very bright. Each year the needs change, and we have provided gifts to the local ARC of the Piedmont house, local families in need, homeless veterans, and more.
Love Knots is our blanket making ministry. No-sew fleece blankets are tied, prayed over and sent out. Blankets have been sent overseas to Africa, sent locally to the dialysis center, to the Ronald McDonald House, to senior adults for Christmas, to IMPACT VA homeowners in Fluvanna and Orange, and to individuals who are fighting cancer or other illnesses.
